Infinite friendship graphs with infinite parameters

We study infinite graphs in which every set of κ vertices has exactly λ common neighbours. We prove that there exist 2σ such graphs of each infinite order σ if κ is finite and that for κ infinite there are 2λ of them of order λ and none of cardinality greater than λ (assuming the GCH). Further, we show that all a priori admissible chromatic numbers are in fact possible for such graphs.

Distinguishing Infinite Graphs

The distinguishing number D(G) of a graph G is the least cardinal number א such that G has a labeling with א labels that is only preserved by the trivial automorphism. We show that the distinguishing number of the countable random graph is two, that tree-like graphs with not more than continuum many vertices have distinguishing number two, and determine the distinguishing number of many classes...

Matchings on infinite graphs

We prove that the local weak convergence of a sequence of graphs is enough to guarantee the convergence of their normalized matching numbers. The limiting quantity is described by a local recursion defined on the weak limit of the graph sequence. However, this recursion may admit several solutions, implying non-trivial long-range dependencies between the edges of a largest matching. We overcome...

Finitely Presented Infinite Graphs

This thesis contributes to the study of families of finitely presented infinite graphs, their structural properties and their relations to each other. Given a finite alpha-bet Σ, a Σ-labeled infinite graph can be characterized as a finite set of binaryrelations (Ra)a∈Σ over an arbitrary countable domain V . There are many ways tofinitely characterize such sets of relations, eithe...

Infinite primitive directed graphs

A group G of permutations of a set is primitive if it acts transitively on , and the only G-invariant equivalence relations on are the trivial and universal relations. A digraph is primitive if its automorphism group acts primitively on its vertex set, and is infinite if its vertex set is infinite. It has connectivity one if it is connected and there exists a vertex α of , such that the induced...
